The Consortium protects and promotes the value of its important historical wine heritage, in a land that belongs to wine, from its origins to date.
The Consortium was established in the spring of 1977, as an evolution of the existing Oltrepò Pavese Hills Consortium. The territory on which the Oltrepò Denomination stands is the hilly part of the area of the same name – curiously described as a bunch of grapes – located south of the great river, the Po, and crosses the province of Pavia from West to East. One hour from Milan.
It is a territory that boasts a millenary and noble history about wine, currently in full revival. History and a passion for making wine represents the focus of the Consortium’s narrative that aims to enhance an area rich in pearls and excellent wines.
Oltrepò is also the third most important doc in Italy. From appetizers to desserts, The Oltrepò Divino is able to offer its own typical wine, a fact that distinguishes this important area dedicated for centuries to Italian viticulture. With 13,500 cultivated hectares, it is the third largest production area of ​​Pinot Noir and Riesling.
